The Key to Results? …Accountability!

What is the #1 Thing that You Can Do to ensure that you get Results?

Be Accountable!

That’s right (the title of this article kind of let the cat out of the bag), but really, accountability is key.

I’ve received no less than 4 emails about accountability over the last few days, so I know that it is on a lot of people’s mind right now.

With fall in the air, and the kids back in school, a lot of people are thinking about changes that they want to make in their lives too. It is almost as if September gives us a fresh start, one last chance to make a change and get on track before the end of the year.

News flash: There are 92 days left in 2014!

How do you want these last few months to be? Do you want to keep doing what you’ve been doing (and keep getting the results you’ve been getting)? Or, do you want to try things a little differently and get different results?

What is the key to getting results? That’s right, I’ll say it again… Accountability.

With accountability, you can ensure that you stick to your goals and finish the year off strong.

Why is this accountability thing so important?

Here’s an excerpt from an email that I received this morning:

Please Help…

There’s no doubt I need to make getting ┬áhealthy and fit a priority.

I just wanted to send a quick reply before I change my mind and another few months go by and it crosses my mind. Lol! This sounds like a good opportunity to me.

I can SO relate to what this woman is saying because it is something that we all struggle with. We have great ideas and plans to get in shape, to eat better, to take care of ourselves, to plan our days and make it work… and then life happens and our priorities and focus shift back to our old routines, our old habits, and our old ways of being.

And then a few months go by and you wonder what happened and then think about maybe trying again. Sound familiar?

This is why accountability is so important! You need help making the change – shifting those habits and behaviors is SO much easier when you’ve got someone to consistently, lovingly notice when you’re starting to get off track and steer you back in the direction of your goals.

This, my friends, is why people join programs and hire coaches – because they don’t want to go it alone anymore, because they’ve tried it themselves and it didn’t work out, because they want support, because they want accountability, and because they want help.

Working with others who are focused on the same goals makes creating change in your life SO much easier, and you are SO much more likely to get RESULTS. And really, what’s the point of going to all of the effort to make a change unless you’re going to get results?

Oh, and did I mention that it can actually be fun?

That’s right! Working with the right kind of support and accountability can be a fun, exciting, and uplifting experience.

So, find the accountability you need – grab a buddy, join a group, or hire a coach* and let’s rock the rest of 2014!

*Ensure that you’ve got the right kind of buddy, group, or coach – you’ll want to make sure that you’ve got someone who supports your goals and will cheer you on (too often I see groups that seem to be content to wallow in their own misery – this is NOT conducive to achieving your goals, moving forward, and getting results!)

If you’d like to talk about how I can support you and keep you accountable then email me at Lisa@healthappeal.ca and we’ll set up a time for a 1-on-1 phone call.

Accountability is the key to success!
